After obtaining a B.A. in Psychology from UMass Boston in 2008, Emily started her career in the non-profit sector working for MSPCC as a Direct Care Worker and Therapeutic Mentor, and at Justice Resource Institute (JRI), serving youth and families across the Cape enrolled in Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative services.
In 2016 Emily became the Program Services Coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands (BBBSCCI) and assisted in the management of all the Cape’s school-based programs, helping to grow their largest mentoring program at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Emily ran the program on site each week in their after-school program, creating a curriculum of activities based on positive youth development.
Emily has volunteered her time at many fundraising events for BBBSCCI, as well as served on their Diversity Equity and Inclusion committee, creating a “Wellness in the Workplace” series for staff.
Emily is a Cape Cod native and certified yoga teacher. She currently resides in Yarmouth with her husband, two children, and the family dog.
