Chief Development and Communications Officer

Status: Full-time Exempt Position (37.5 hours/week)

Time Frame: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. We seek to fill this position by July 15th.


The Chief Development & Communications Officer will successfully lead and implement an integrated development and communications strategy that raises the organization’s visibility and secures a diverse and sustainable revenue portfolio to support the CDP’s program growth and achievement of strategic goals.

This position manages and leads all major gifts functions. It also identifies and pursues opportunities to build new revenue streams such as principal gifts, planned giving, donor and foundation prospecting and research, and special one- or multi-year fundraising campaigns.

The Chief Development & Communications Officer is a member of the organization’s senior management team and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will have the support of a full-time administrative staff person and a Board Development Committee. The Chief Development & Communications Officer will work from the CDP’s office located at 3 Main Street Mercantile, Eastham, Massachusetts and there is an opportunity to work remotely up to 3 days per week.

Volunteer Opportunities

Marketing & Communications Volunteer

The Marketing & Communications Volunteer supports the CDP’s marketing and communications efforts. Projects include development of marketing materials, proof-reading of copy, creating Facebook posts, updating media contacts and other admin related tasks. You should have:

  • strong writing and organizational skills,
  • experience with MS Word (experience with Publisher & InDesign is a plus),
  • access to a computer with internet
  • the ability to work from home or at the CDP’s offices in Eastham.

General Administrative Volunteer

The CDP is looking for volunteers who are interested in working on a variety of administrative and clerical tasks including filing, data entry, phone calls, etc. An ability to adapt to shifting needs and possess a positive customer service oriented attitude is ideal. This position includes weekly meetings with our Chief Financial and Operations Officer in Eastham and is ongoing. Experience with MS Word is required.
