In response to the urgent housing shortage, the Lower Cape Housing & ADU Resource Center offers services to residents and landlords to promote positive tenancy relationships and housing stabilization, as well as supporting property owners in building Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUS). Many communities on Cape Cod have recently amended their bylaws to allow for the creation of more ADUs. ADUs alone will not solve the housing crisis, but they are an important tool for supporting year-round living and working on the Lower Cape. This workshop will cover the ways in which the Lower Cape Housing & ADU Resource Center supports property owners in navigating the permitting process and becoming good landlords. We’ll also discuss trends that we’re seeing and how to address challenges in ADU production.
The Community Development Partnership and Homeless Prevention Council have launched the Lower Cape Housing & ADU Resource Center to help address our region’s housing crisis. We provide technical assistance and other support to homeowners who are interested in creating Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), as well as going landlord/tenant support and many other helpful services.
