Workshop Description:
Competing for market-rate homes and rentals isn’t feasible for many local residents, and municipalities shouldn’t be in the business of property ownership and management: what tools exist to bridge these gaps? Community Land Trusts can provide a vehicle to lower the cost of housing and preserve existing homes for local residents. This workshop will explore this 50-year-old mechanism for creating and preserving community assets and values and its applicability to our region.

Chloe Schaefer & Erin Perry, Cape Cod Commission
Brenda Torpy, Champlain Land Trust
