In Memoriam: Alice Demoracski

It is with a heavy heart that the CDP shares the sad news that Alice Demoracski, the CDP’s Director of Property Management, passed away on Friday, November 27th after a long illness. Fortunately, she was at home surrounded by her partner Tom and family.

Alice was part of the CDP family for 8 years managing the CDP’s rental housing and serving as the main point of contact for our residents. She knew every resident by name when they walked through our door and although Alice was responsible for enforcing state mandated rules and regulations she did so from a place of compassion. She had the unique ability to bring incredible kindness and understanding in working with our residents, many of whom were dealing with multiple challenges. Alice was a great problem solver and we all admired the patience, respect and dignity that she afforded not only to her clients but to all of us who worked alongside her.

A very private person, most of us were unaware that Alice was battling a severe illness. She possessed an admirable work ethic and worked tirelessly up until her last two months. All of us at the CDP have been inspired by her ability to confront her own challenges while continuing to help the families we serve in often equally difficult circumstances.

Alice’s kindness and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all of us at the CDP.
