Individual Counseling
Individual Counseling:
The CDP offers individual homeownership counseling sessions focusing primarily on income, debt, credit, and how best to help clients achieve their goals toward homeownership. The client will learn a menu of various mortgage products with an emphasis on subsidized mortgages and down payment and closing cost assistance for income-eligible buyers.
Clients will receive counseling services in the following focus areas:
- Financial Education: money management, household budgeting, and credit repair. Clients will learn how to save money for a down payment, work towards paying off debt, and pull credit reports
- Home Financing Resources: clients will receive access to local and regional homeownership assistance programs such as Buy Down Programs, Down Payment, and Closing Cost Assistance Programs and available housing lottery opportunities. The client will receive assistance in completing application programs.
